GREENLAND — Pamela Tucker hopes voters on Nov. 4 will elect her to represent Greenland in the N.H. House.

She is a Republican candidate for the seat currently held by Michael Marsh.

Pam Tucker said she is well-qualified to represent Greenland, New Hamsphire.

"I worked for the Gillette Company for almost nine years, holding various positions of increased responsibility in sales, marketing and management before choosing to forgo work to raise my children," Tucker said. "I am very involved in our community and children's lives, including teaching Sunday school at a local church and a Girl Scout leader and manager for the past five years in Greenland, New Hampshire. As an individual and family, we are avid recyclers and conservationists. Between composting, reusing of items, and recycling, we try to do our part for preserving the environment. I helped update Greenland's recycling program in 2002 to include a broader coverage of recyclable materials and lessen our waste in the community."

Pam Tucker said she believes the state's top funding priorities should be education, public safety and responsible fiscal management.

"The one-party control in Concord, New Hampshire, needed all of the 23 taxes and fees raised to pay for the largest spending increase of any budget in the last 20 years, a huge, 17.5-percent increase," Tucker said. "The New Hampshire state budget exceeds $10 billion for the first time in history. We're facing a possible $200 million deficit. In 20 years, budgets under five different governors of both parties never increased as much. This is unacceptable when most of us are trying to figure out how to pay our heating bills this winter! I am concerned that to pay for this spending, the one party controlled state will impose a broad-based tax on our citizens. The education funding (our future) must be permanently addressed by our legislature, not the courts. I will work to assure this important issue is finally fixed."

Locally, Route 33 is an issue Pam Tucker would like to see addressed.

"It is well traveled, and the traffic will only increase with the new shopping center opening up the road," Pam said. "The intersection at Route 33 and Bayside has been in issue for many years, continually set aside or not addressed by our lawmakers. It is becoming increasingly dangerous and must be fixed. For the safety of everyone driving on that road, I will make the intersection of Bayside, Winnicut and Route 33 one of my top priorities.

"I'm asking the community of Greenland to support me in trying to bring a positive change and common sense to Concord," Pam Tucker said. "I am available to answer any questions at 431-8982 or catch me at my children's sporting events around town."
